Student Discounts
I won’t be having credit card when I arrive in Adelaide so I can’t buy from Apple’s Online Store.

No, sadly I found that this store treated me pretty badly when I was a student. I went there to purchase a copy of the student/teacher edition of Microsoft Office. I did not have my student card with me so they refused the sale … fair enough, but when I asked if they could hold it for me while I returned with my card, the guy who was serving me must have suddenly developed hearing problems, because he said to me that I was not allowed to buy it. I told him very politely that I understood that, but I would be returning with my student ID card later in the afternoon and could he please hold it for me until then … so then he told me again that I would not be able to buy this program as I did not have my student card. I asked to speak to his manager … and I guess I don’t have to say what he told me.
(Yep, that I could not purchase the program without my student card. Well, duh.)
Anyway I went home and collected my student card … and then walked a little further down Rundle Mall to David Jones, who are a registered apple dealer. They were more than happy to see me the program. In fact they did not even ask to see my student card and when I asked them about it, pointed to the note on the box that said “No ID Required”.
Next Byte in Rundle Mall employ idiots. Despite having purchased more than $2,000 of goods in their store previously, they treated me like crap. I have never returned. Nor do I intend to.
(Is anyone from Next Byte reading this? Hope so.)

even without a student discount
why not just ask for a discount or go to another store and see what they can do
