Will a college degree give you a leg up in the job market in a recession?

College Jobs
I have a college degree and was lucky enough to get a job but I have a lot of friends who also have degrees who can’t find jobs. Do college degrees still increase your chances of getting hired over somebody that doesn’t have one?

Yes, and over all graduates are likely to earn at least $10,000 more than someone without a degree. It is difficult to find open positions at the moment, but when a company is looking to hire someone, be assured that they will prefer someone with a degree over someone without – unless the position is one for which experience is more important than education.

Yes and no. No because in towns like mind, it’s who you know. However, I would never take a 4 or 6 year degree for granite.

I think so. It means you can start something big and finish it.
It also means you know how to tap a keg and follow that by sleeping until noon the next day. It means you know what it is like to pay $80 for a text book, good for only three months, then sell it back for $15 if you didn’t scribble in it. It means you know how to live on bologna sandwiches for weeks until you get home to mom for a hot meal. It means you have perfected the perfect throwing arm from many food fights in the food hall.
