Which college is better? Devry or ITT Tech?
Question by 00513-11595: Which college is better? Devry or ITT Tech?
Just based on the education and price of the tuition. I don’t care how hard the work is at the school I’m just wondering how much it’ll cost for me to go. Just to put this out there, I need some help and tips and stuff since I’m 15 going on 16. And I think I should get a head start to choosing colleges, I already planned on expenses in the future such as car, fuel, etc… I already have places in mind where to work, but I’m just trying to get a head start into college.
So please can you guys out there help a young kid in this world?
Arigato in advance
La, any suggestions? but when I read what you said I got a good laugh XD

Frankly, neither of them has a good reputation and they’re both very expensive. You’d be much better off at a community college or public tech school if they offer the same program – it’s cheaper and more respected.

You’re almost 16 and you’re already planning on going to a crappy college? Save yourself the money and find better options.

devry and itt tech are not state accredited universities, this means that employers don’t recognize degrees from devry and itt tech as being valid.

It would be better to go to a community college, DeVry and ITT Tech are for-profit scams that give you a fake degree. Do some research before you consider giving money to a place like that. Why don’t you just get good grades and get a scholarship?

Respected colleges that have great reputations in tech fields: Rensselaer Polytechnic, MIT, Worcester Polytechnic, UMass Amherst, U Michigan Ann Arbor, U Wisconsin Madison, U Illinois Urbana, the Cooper Union, Olin College of Engineering, U California Berkeley, UCLA, Uni of Southern California, U Texas Austin, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech… and quite a few more. But no need to go to a Devry or ITT Tech.
But if you MUST choose between ITT and Devry, go to Devry. At least it’s appropriately accredited.

ITT is worthless except perhaps for very short-term courses to get your foot in the door to low-pay, low advancement jobs. ITT is not regionally accredited.
DeVry is regionally accredited. Its Engineering Technology degrees are also TAC/ABET accredited and are actually very good (contrary to what people who don’t understand TAC/ABET accreditation tell you). Unfortunately, DeVry expanded form being a very good Technical Institute to being a very poor “university”. Other than Engineering Technology, DeVry degrees are substandard, and should be avoided. The other advantage of DeVry Engineering Technology degrees is that they are earned in three calendar years, so graduates get to earn a living one year faster. (This helps offset DeVry’s high tuition costs).
