Question by Secret: Where can I get really cheap tickets to see Hairspray in NYC?
I wanted to get my sister tickets for Christmas, but I can’t afford regular priced tickets. I wanted to do student rush, but I don’t wanna go all the way to the city just to find out that they are sold out. I have been looking online for the past hours for discount tickets and I can’t find any. Does anybody know where I can buy really cheap tickets to the show before it closes?

I have found a really good site that doesn’t seem to be overly saturated. But has great deals on tickets. http://www.ticketstoseats.com

If you go to one of the TKTS Ticket Booths in NYC, they sell really cheap tickets to all of the broadway shows. There’s one just off Times Square, one near the South Street Seaport, and one in downtown Brooklyn. Don’t pre-book them, go to one of these ticket booths on the day you want to go to see a show, at around one in the afternoon (US time) and you’ll queue for about half an hour to an hour and you’ll be able to get really cheap tickets to most of Broadway’s shows. It depends how popular they are and they give them out on a first come first served basis. We got pretty good tickets for Hairspray when I went and we only queued for about half an hour.
