What you need to do then is apply to the business college at your University. You will take classes in Business Math, Microsoft Excel, Accounting, Report analysis, etc. Franchises DO make damn good money if you have a good location but there are also a lot of health regulations that you need to follow and learn. A Subway business would be a smart idea because there aren’t as many health codes to follow when you are only dealing with pre-prepped food. It would be pretty easy to run, but keeping it clean and keeping your employees happy and learning how to schedule employee hours and budget them would definitely be skills you should know. So get a job at Subway WHILE you are in business school and then begin your business loan application while you are working there. Tell your asperations of being an owner to your manager and they may help you out with more training opportunites, etc — just don’t be a jackass about it. Franchise businesses are very cut throat and you generally need a deep pocket in order to get foot in a good market. It is not IMPOSSIBLE to do, but Subway is one of the harder franchises to get.

Hey there, I’m also a 20 year old college student, and I was in the exact same spot as you. I admire your drive to change your life and you’ll go far with it, but you need to find the right thing for you. I may have something you’d be interested in, just email/message me back and we can go from there.
I hope you find what you’re looking for,
Good Luck and God Bless!
