What made you drawn to a certain college or university?

So, how did you choose the colleges u applied to? What made you want to go to them? What was your method? I’m Just wondering b/c im looking into colleges right now, and I was wondering what drew you into a certain college or university.

* Only a 20 minute drive from home.
* Free parking across the street at Grandma’s house always available.
* Relatively cheap; even more so for being a “resident” student.
* Oh, and the degree program I needed was there too.

Think about several major issues… where you want to go geographically, like do you want to live at home or near your hometown or do you want to live far away, or go abroad? How big of a school do you feel comfortable at? Are you a city person or more rural? Then think about your possible stregnths and interests. Do you know what area you want to major in? Do you know what field you want to work in? If you can afford it, visit several colleges, or call a college and ask if there are any alumni in your area who you could speak with. The fact is there are tons of schools, and I don’t really know how people manage to come up with a small list. I just applied to a bunch of small liberal arts colleges within a few hours of my home, and went to the best one I got into. And now that I’m older, I’m back in school, and affordability is more important to me, so I am at a state university.

i visited a bunch of colleges and it was honestly a gut feeling of comfort that i felt during the visit that made me choose Ohio Northern University. i could picture myself on the campus.
