What Do You Look For When Choosing A College?
Is it the variety of majors etc. that they provide?
How the campus looks?
What kind of people go there?
Out of state/ in state?
Cost?
Also, which college would you pick from here?
Penn State Dubois
- Looks gloomy, small, nothing special, middle of nowhere
- Out of state so it’ll cost more
- Better than a community college
- Have to live in an apartment *no dorm*
- Students look very, very out of style and nerdy
or
Perimeter *Community college*
- Close to home
- Cheaper cost since it’s in state
- Know more people
- More night life and stuff to do, lots of fun things to do nearby
- Good education just that it’s a community college.

When looking for a college you need to decide what’s important to you and what will suit your needs. It is also important to know that NO COLLEGE will match you 100%, nothing can be completely perfect.
Community colleges are good because they are close to home, really cheap and it makes the transition from high school to university a smoother one.
Universities are really alluring because you most likely get to be independent and on your own. you can set your own rules and limits. In your situation I would suggest the community college. However, you should look into colleges in your state because tuition will be alot cheaper. it also depends on what you want to major and what you want out of college (some people want to attend a big college and some want a small college experience) soooo it just depends on what you want in a college and where you see yourself in a couple of years.

There are different things everybody looks for, but the important ones are:
-educational reputation (which doesn’t necessarily mean it needs to be an ivy league) and programs available that meet your interests and educational needs
-distance from home
-public/private college/university
-relgious affiliation (for some people, this is more important than for others)
-cost
-size (how many students are enrolled)
Of those 2, I’d say Perimeter
