Loans- Strings attached
Scholarships-Strings attached
Working- No strings attached
I recommend working your way through college. It’s not a popular way to get money for college, but it’s the only way to get a ***no strings attached*** education.
It may take you longer than most kids who are borrowing hundreds of thousands of dollars, but in the end, you’ll have your degree ***free and clear***, and when you graduate you can travel the world, open a surf shop in borneo, or follow any of your dreams, guilt and debt free… and all the money you earn is yours to keep. Say hello to sports cars, boats, vacations…
This may not make much sense to you now, but trust me, it will eventually:)

scholarships, grants.loans(all students have to apply for FAFSA anyways),saving up (you and your parents), if you get high enough SAT scores some universities will take a portion of the tuition off (Case Western Reserve Univ for example). I suggest sitting down with your guidance counselor at school and your parents and they can help you with discussing different options and what the most effective solution would be.

When I was in college, I received money from several sources:
1. State Financial aid–the Cal Grant and the Robert C Byrd scholarship.
2. School financial aid: work study, an academic scholarship, some scholarships unique to my major, and a another scholarship based upon my parents’ profession (they work in Christian ministry, and it was a Christian college)
3. Money from parents and summer jobs
There is also federal money available–for example, the Pell grant and various loans. I was fortunate not to need any loans, but they are available if necessary. I was not eligible for the Pell grant because my parents made too much, but this is another option.
