I know that Apple as well as various other vendors (Dell for example) may honor student discounts through their websites. Even universities will have discount software/hardware deals, and university bookstores that operate under Barnes and Noble will have some discounts on laptops (macs included) too.

Yes its true. Its only $1300 brand new of the $1999 model. It also includes the 3 year membership of apple care.

You’re getting EXACTLY what you’re paying for… why would they give you something else when you’re purchasing a laptop?
