Have you ever come across anything that has helped you in this regard? Any suggested books to read? I want something to help me decide whether I should go to a big research university or a small school.

Im registering to classes but there is one class which is “survey of music history”. It says it is in the style of a survey, is this like a lecture? or a practice class?
