My husband, 2 children, and I are wanting to take Amtrak in May when we move, but the tickets are over 1000.00. Does anyone know of any other promotional codes or discounts to use other then AAA and student discounts? My family and I would greatly appreciate it.
I took classes during the spring in Maryland, now I’m taking a break in California, & I lost my college ID. I’m trying to get back to Maryland on the Amtrak, will they sell me a Student Advantage Card even though I don’t have my college ID?

In the eight times I’ve ridden with AAA/Student Advantage discounted tickets, no conductor has asked to check my AAA or SA card. I’ve ridden mostly in New England. Maybe a Drivers License, but never the discount card.
Just bring it, in case.
i bought a train ticket 3 days in advance and got the 15% discount. the problem is it’s for tomorrow and i wanted to leave later than i had anticipated. is it possible to change my ticket? do i just pay the difference if i do that?
