Should The Amount Of Student Discount Be Increased In Stores?

Student Discounts
Its nice that most stores offer student discount, but the majority only offer 10% which if your buying something small such as for £4 your only saving 40p, and as a result the discount is only better if your buying a lot which in effect encourages students to buy more when in fact they are trying to save up?
Should the discount be increased to either 15% or 20%?
And should it be increased to more shops? I’m shocked that WHSmiths doesn’t offer student discount!

I think any kind of discount is a plus. what you need is better funding in the first place. I hated having very little money as a student. It did give me a sense of stretching very little a long way though.

My feeling is that stores only do this if they think it pays them to do it.
What they are hoping is that by giving impoberished students a very small discount they will remain loyal after they’ve got their degrees and are earning good money.
