Hello. I am looking forward purchasing a Macbook pro with a 15 inch screen, it looks like a good device, however price tag seems to be a bit too high for a college student. So, I was wondering, are there any discounts one may use to reduce the price?

Since you are a Student you can use your Education Discount or buy a refurbished MacBook Pro, which is great because the refurbished option can save a couple of hundred US Dollars.
