Q&A: College education, can’t find a job?
Question by Matt: College education, can’t find a job?
I graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree. Nowhere wants to hire me because I have no experience. I’ve decided I don’t really care for my major anyway, which doesn’t help. How do I find a job? I am a clean cut, responsible 26 year old. The only jobs I can find are flipping burgers or working in a retail store for an hour. I’ve posted my resume on countless websites, and have “networked” as much as possible.
How do people find jobs? Where do I look??
(p.s. I have no passions, nothing inspires me)
Thanks guys… you came to the same conclusion as me… “find a passion”. Geez, I don’t even know where to look.
A bullet for breakfast is looking better and better.

If you have no passion and no inspiration, then you are your own worst enemy in getting a job. Employers are looking for people with passion. Since you don’t seem to have any cares, then you will only find jobs that any trained monkey can take. You need to find a passion and go in that direction.

You can do what thousands of people in your position do and go to law school. Of course, if you have no real interest in law…you might end up with a bunch of student loans for law school and no job.

“I have no passions, nothing inspires me”.
This tatement right here is enough for you not to get a decent job. Not because you have a degree, doesn’t mean you can start from the top.
Find something you’re passionate about then start from there. Oops! I forgot you have no ambition and nothing is interested you.
