Question by neec35: My daughter and Son have 1/16 Western Cherokee and are declared. HOW do they get college money?
Are declare through Western Cherokee Nation.
Are of college age now.
Daughter already went through two years college.
We need college grant help for them.
Can anyone help??

Haskell Indian Nations is a college that is near free (like 200) to qualified tribe members. This includes room and board, even books.
I would try contacting the Cherokee Nation, I’ve attached a link below. I looked up the Western Cherokee Nation but didn’t see anything immediately. You might try contacting them as well.
The Gates Millennium scholarship is also another option.

Since the Western Cherokee Nation is not a federally recognized tribes, your children would not qualify for any funding reserved for American Indians. One must be enrolled with a federally recognized tribe to be legally considered an Indian and be eligible for funds reserved for American Indians. That being said, the Western Cherokee Nation, a non-profit organization, might offer scholarships to members of the organization.
