My brother graduated from college this past January. Will he have problems finding a teaching job?

College Jobs
Are there still plenty ofjobs out there or will he do better waiting until the end of the year and apply for next year?

It all depends where you live. Here in Ohio it is very difficult to find a teaching job regardless of the time of year. Either way I would encourage him to apply to sub. Some districts take sub applications year round. It isn’t too early to apply for next year either. Many districts start hiring in April.

bottom line is yes, its a terrible time to be looking for any kind of job but worth a try i guess

It depends on what he is teaching and where he’s teaching it. In the north the arts are all in hell, and most other extracurricular classes are falling victim to heightening academic requirements. I’m told things are a little better down south but I’m not fully sure on that. I imagine all other teachers would have equally hard times regardless of what they teach. But long commutes to work or even being forced to move is almost a guarantee.

It depends on where you are located..
In my state you would have a VERY hard time..this is nothing new..it is too many certified teachers for the number of open positions. Right now would be the time to start looking for next year.
