ok, so rumor has it that Obama plans to give college students money ($ 5000)? is this true and if so, how do we get it/ what are the requirements for getting said money??

No, you will not get money, you will get a tax credit on some of your expenses

It will most likely be in the form of a tax refund, and will only apply if you attend a state school for your first four-year degree. These taxes we’re about to pay this april were decided a long time ago, so anything Obama will change will come no earlier than the 2010 tax season.

I can see helping kids who are paying for college but ones who are already receiving tax payer dollars for school should get nothing.

I think you have to be involve in some kind of community service. I am in college also. I need money to pay for college too.

well your not just gonna get a check! it will come more in the way of financial aid and scholarships. He is putting more money into those areas! Dont worry everyone is poor in college, you weren’t the first and won’t be the last poor college kid. Just get a job and dont but drinks at the bar!

This is nothing new. You can already get a credit when doing ones yearly taxes. Shame on Obama making the gullible think this is anything new.
