I have noticed several signs of oral problems over the last few weeks and took a closer look last night. I have visible cavities on 3 teeth and I know there are more that are harder to see..Many teeth are aching. I am attending college and have no parent support (financially), besides the fact that my dentist is in another state 300miles away. Further, I am moving in 11/2 months 3000 miles away and will struggle to afford food. I dont know what to do. I cant afford a dentist though I do have insurance but Im sure doing nothing will not help. What should I do? I cannot find a dentist that will offer a student discount.

SOME DENTAL COLLEGES OFFER SOME HELP BECAUSE THE STUDENTS ARE INTERNS SO THEY MAY FIX YOUR DENTAL PROBLEMS AT A DISCOUNT.

Find a dental college and get seen. They offer low cost dental services. If you can’t do that then talk to a dentist about payment plans or check to see how much your insurance covers towards dental.

as already mentioned, go to a dentist college and see what they can offer you.
also, try asking your dentist if he could to the procedure in stages. sometimes they can.
most importantly, dont wait to go. the longer you wait, the more painful it will be, and the more severe the damage. you dont want to make this procedure any more expensive than it has to be.

Are you sure your insurance doesn’t have dental?
You could check for a dental college in your area.
If you were brown and spoke Spanish it wouldn’t be a problem.

You should also try you local county public hospital they usually have flat rate care and can be considered emergency care because of your pains. In my county for a visit was about $20 dollars. But they usually make you get they very early in the a.m. to get a number and it’s first come first serve. You can be waiting a long time but that is why it’s cheap.

Make an appoint for an exam. Most insurance will pay 100% or a large portion of this fee. Putting if off might only make matters worse; cavities never better. Don’t wait for pain to get you to a dentist.
