LGBT: Help me with choosing my college classes?

College Selection
You guys are cool. So, help me choose.
I need to take US History 1 and 2 (can be taken at the same time).
I can either take them online with an alright teacher and only have in-person classes Mon and Wed.
or…
I can take them in person Tues and Thurs with a great teacher, but that will mean I have in-person classes Monday through Thursday.
Which should I do?
I won’t be seeing the “aright” teacher at all. Her class is fully online. I’d have different classes M and W

Hmmm it’s just U.S. history, i think you’re better off with the first option and study at your own pace given a book and some materials. i hope you do study.

Online if you ask me.

I don’t quite understand how and why this is categorized under LGBT but to provide you with another person’s perspective, I would say that if it were me I will be taking classes with the great teacher. The fact that the word GREAT is in that sentence is the selling point for me. However, if you’re the type who greatly dislikes in-person classes or if you’re busy doing something else on the side, then take the one with the online option.

I would say go for the in person classes, partially because I think people learn better in that sort of environment especially with a good teacher, and partially because I distrust all these new-fangled teaching methods…

I took some online classes when I was at Virginia Tech last year and my advice is…stay far away. Unless you are an exceptionally bright student with extreme amounts of self-discipline, the online classes will be difficult. You have to push yourself to complete the boring and monotonous lessons. And then you have the dreary and confusingly written homework exercises to contend with. While the online classes offer a lot of help outlets, if you are confused about the course material you have to find your help in written text; rather than an explanation from an actual human being. I found that my marks improved greatly when I switched to lecture classes.
While some excel at online classes I found that they were not worth the trouble. They don’t save you time: you have to spend just as much (maybe more) time studying for those as you would with a normal class. And it is oddly tempting to jump on Facebook while you are reading through your lessons, thus distraction is all to easy. Also, online classes put you at a disadvantage by your not meeting as many people that could be potential study mates as you would in a lecture.
If you are confident enough to tackle all these difficulties, by all means, take advantage of the online courses. If not, then sticking to conventional lectures is your best bet. A great professor can be the difference between an A average and a B.

Take them on-line. History is more of a reading class, and if you read the text, then you should be in great shape! Good luck!
