It’s About Choosing A College!! Please Hellppp?
Ok, i still have 3 years of high school. I can’t wait to go to college but i have a problem. I REALLY wanna go to a college in California, but i live in France and my parents aren’t very excited about paying a lot of money for me each year. My dad said that he’ll be willing to pay a lot of money if i get into a school like UCLA or Stanford. Thing is, i’m not really into education and studying a lot. I just wanna have an awsome college experience with frats, parties, and stuff like that. Don’t get me wrong, i still do want a good school but not as good as UCLA or Stanford.
Can you help me? Like tell me what to do or if you do have a college in mind, please tell me which one?

Although I agree that you shouldn’t be applying to college just to party, I’ll answer you anyways…
Why specifically California when you live in France?
There are so many other party schools in the country for you to apply to. Trust me, you DON’T want to be going to a second-rate school in Cali right now, because of their financial issues. Unless it’s private or one of the main public schools right now, colleges there are having a LOT of problems.
Since money is an issue, here’s a suggestion for you: Apply to a school in the midwest. Schools there aren’t as popular as schools on the coasts, BUT this means that they’re 1. more likely to accept you with subpar grades and 2. they have more scholarship money to throw at you. Especially since you’d be an international student, you’d be even more likely to get scholarship money at an American school… even moreso if it’s a school with relatively low diversity.
Bottom line, if you really want to go to a party school in the US, you should change your aspirations.

There’s no such thing as a good college that has an equally good party scene. It’s only one or the other. College is not about partying (although a social life is important); it’s about getting an education.
I say forgo college since all you want to do is have fun and that’s the end of it.
Better yet, live right next door to a party school. San Diego State (I believe that’s the name) has a party school reputation.

Here’s what you do – forget about applying to colleges. Get a job in CA near a college and you can go to all the parties you want without wasting a ton of money trying to get a degree you’re not going to finish anyway. You can get the entire college party experience without paying for it and while earning money at your job.

If all you want to do is party… then don’t even waste your time applying to UCLA or Stanford. You’d be doing yourself and them a favor. Just move to California, get a job, and go to all the parties anyways. You’re going to regret that when you get older though.
