Many of my classmates are having a hard time finding a job even though they spent good money getting a degree? Is this common?

It’s not unusual, but it does depend on what you’re looking for, what your degree is and what kind of experience you have. You really need to flesh out your resume and show the value of having you as an employee. You can’t just rely on your degree to open doors.
Personality, professionalism, a good work ethic and the ability to work and communicate with others is paramount to finding a good job. Many people who have degrees don’t really develop these attributes.

it took me 6 months to find a job- although i was very picky and would only move a certain distance from home

Yes, this is common. We know it is because student loans do not start collecting interest until 6 monthes after the student’s graduation date. Loan companies realize that it takes people awhile to find a steady job and also that they can’t justify charging students for using the money when they don’t have an income.

Wright know at this time the comedies is down low it’s relay heard for everyone to find a job at this point and time.

Depends on what type of degree you have and what the job market is like (in the area that they’re searching in). I found a fabulous job 4 days after graduation but then, I don’t think that was typical- that was God! (Considering the degree I had).

I would say it is. I know several people who didnt get jobs in the field of their degree for about 2 years. I think it depends on the degree and how broad of a search you’re willing to do. If you limit your search to a specific area, then the amount of jobs available will probably be limited as well.
