College Selection
The big debate, college or University? How do you choose, college is less years, but i’m told if I got university I will make more money…what are your opinions?

My understanding is that College is more practical application while University is heavy on theory. The line is, however, blurred in some institutions. University is not necessarily more money but it does require you to understand more and to think about the processes involved to a greater extent.

4-year University degrees are more highly regarded in certain professions, like finance and engineering, but I actually found my college education to be more useful in a practical sense – I found myself doing more self study than anything else in University.
It depends on what you are studying too. Most vocational programs that exist in college have no place in universities. If you are looking to get into several lucrative business, like horticulture/landscaping, for example, you may find much better resources in college than University. Same thing with computer-type training. I have found that community college have much better classes regarding computer science and ERP management than any university I have been to.

Where I am from some institutes of higher education are called university and some college but they are essentially the same the thing and the terms are used interchangeablly.
If your question is 2 year verses 4 year institution. You need to look at which will better get you ready for what you want to do as your life’s work.
Some people will start in a 2 year college before moving on to a four year. Some do it for financial reasons, some to see if college is for them, and some didn’t have the greatest grades in high school and are using the 2 year to improve their academics to get into a 4 year.

I’m not sure where you are from but where I am from the only difference between a college and a university is that universities offer a degree above a bachelors degree, ie: masters, phd. If you are talking about getting an associates degree or only a 2 year degree then I am thinking you might as well just get a 4 year degree as you will learn more and you will probably in the long run make more money.
