What kind of student benefits do they have? credit cards with low interest rates? university savings programs? student discount opportunities? Please be descriptive!

All major Canadian banks are safe, and have programs designed for students. Since there are only six of them (Royal, TD, Scotia, Bank of Montreal, CIBC, and National), they are very competitive in all areas. I suggest you focus on the first three, check out their websites, and select the one that meets your needs.
I personally like TD the best.
