Take a look at Holy Cross. HC has twice the national rate for acceptance to medical schools and is over halfway through the building of a 60 million dollar science complex. HC is exceptionally strong in Premed and the sciences in general. More than 10 percent of the 35,000 living alumni of Holy Cross are physicians. Holy Cross and Mt Holyoke are the only two New England colleges in the top ten of most beautiful college campuses in the nation per Princeton Review.
HC is in Worcester which is on commuter rail to Boston, 10 trains/day.

Don’t just look into schools based on their rating. Choose a school based on the fact that you like the social environment, the student body, the faculty, the faculty/student ratio, academics, etc. If you enjoy going to school and being there ( not just being there because it’s going to get you prestige), then you’re more likely to do well in your courses too, and in the end better your chances to be prepared to enter pre-med / pre-dental – whatever your choice.
Also, related to your choice of major, make sure that you know what you are getting into. Many students start off being engineering majors/pre-meds for all the wrong reasons (money, etc), but after the first year, discover that it’s not really what they want to pursue. In the end, some end up with low gpa’s and time wasted. I say this not to scare you, but to make you aware of what’s ahead.
If pre-med/pre-dent is what you want to do, fine, but have a reason strong enough that will motivate you and keep you going when the going gets tough, because believe me, it will get tough!
Best of Luck!
