I used to live in Colorado, and a friend of mine who was a recent cosmetology grad told me that the department store salons like JCPenney are the best places to start out because they are the most likely to provide you with advanced training (at least around Denver, Colo Springs). You could also apply to a limited service salon that doesn’t do dye. Some of the Super-cuts branches fall under this category.
