I believe the way we choose college football NO. 1 team should be lets place everyone’s name in a hat and pick
that is just as good as it is done today….no basis…..since truthfully it’s about who you like…..but what about this….rank everyone in the nation by voting using your cereal coupon…..or by text messaging and you will be charged fifty cents…..and based on who you play and their ranking…..then see how many points you have.. and the least about of points is the number 1 team… now what is your true opinion about this….now only answer if you can be non-partial….USC has played Nebraska who by the luck of the Irish the place kicker misses and they win….hmmm….let’s see was that Ball State that should have beaten the cornhuskers…..Oh I forgot that made USC the badest meanest and more impressive then any other team…..and what is this moving Oklahoma ahead of Florida…..who have they played…..hmmmm…..dang….
well, anyway…..maybe they shouldn’t have that number 1 ranking and just see if they win their conferences….let’s hear it from you guys

I hate USC….SOOOOOOOOOO over-rated, they play CAL and that is IT! No wonder they are #1 who is their competition??

Yeah I don’t really like they way college football is set up but it is what it is. #1 gets it’s ranking by a room full of guys voting who they think is #1. They go by scheduling, home or away games, returning players etc.. all that good stuff. But i did hear that in the near future there will be a kinda playoff at the end of the year for the national title.

I heard all the crap spouted out from Tennessee and LSU about how weak the Pac-10 is and how great the SEC is, that was before the Vol’s got smashed by the Cal Bears.

that’s just stupid. there definetly needs to be a new way of polling though. and even though i want to see some playoffs, i doubt it considerig half of the top 16 teams aren’t even good enough to be in playoffs.

I have given up on the polls in that generally speaking they are a joke especially early in the season. No poll should come out until after the fourth week of play and this year shows just how stupid the polling is early on in the season. As for Numeral Uno, I always thought it belonged to the team defending its national title. Until you are beaten then you are still number one.

I understand that the ranking system is hard to understand and that your team is not ranked as high as Southern Cal.
But does all this complaining do anything? No it only stirs up verbal clashes between fans of different teams.
The BCS system is inept and weird I admit but it has been like this for years. It’s not Southern Cal’s fault that they are ranked No.1.
Just root for your team and pray that they will win the National title. That’s all you can do.

We already have an accurate meassuring system, which is why we can so accurately produce pointspreads. Problem is, gambling ratings, like the BGS Power Ratings, aren’t considered ‘politically correct’ … but when it comes to putting money on a team – they are bang on!
