How much should I charge for babysitting and tutoring services in California?
How much should I charge for babysitting and tutoring services in California? (I specify California because different states have different minimum wages)
I am a 19 year old college student who wants to tutor/babysit part time so I can focus on my school work more and plan my schedule around when I need more time off. I want to make a small website with prices so I look more official and get serious people interested. So how much should I charge?
Tutoring (per hour or per session?) – $?????
Babysitting (per hour or per session?) – $?????
Tutoring and babysitting combo (again, per hour or session?) – $?????
Pet sitting (per day) – $?????
& how do you suggest I advertise for this? Fliers, craigslist,…?
Thank you!

tutoring and tutoring/babysitting i don’t know
babysitting: start at 10 or 12 and add 2$ for every kid
pet sitting: 30$/a day
I find craigslist works. especially for pet sitting. with babysitting ask people to spread the word but craigslist works for that too.

Forget about all the other silly posts you read here.
Tutoring – $10 an hour
Babysitting – $7 an hour
Combo – $15 an hour
Pet Sitting – $6 an hour
Depending on what your teaching, you can charge anywhere
between $10 to $20 an hour. I agree that you can charge more,
but you will get more customers at these rates.
The best type of advertising is word of mouth, so talk to your
friends and family. Yes, you can post ads on different sites
and create flyers. There are a lot of other options, but most of
them require a bigger investment. At your age, you should stick
to inexpensive advertising techniques.
