It took a little while for me. That was also because I still wasn’t sure of what I wanted to do. I started working for a temporary service which I would highly recommend because I got to see a variety of office settings and work in a variety of roles. If I could work temp employment forever, I would probably do it!
I did however, decide to go back to graduate school and after graduating from that I received job offers at the first 2 places I applied to. I’ve hopped around 3 times since then but am hoping I’ve landed “at the one”. It’s hard to find a place to work that you would like to stay at for the rest of your life. So the key is just to get out there and start looking!

You’re supposed to start looking Fall of your senior year and apply to a bunch of places. They usually give you 3 interviews before hiring your. You’re usually offered the job spring semester or after you graduate. Most people start jobs a week after graduation.

I got a paycheck in a pretty bad job within a few weeks……. changed jobs 6 months later…….. did hourly work for 11 years, then got a job teaching at half what I made in the shop…….. 11 years later, I landed a nice job……
The shop was a REAL job.. paid the mortgage, gave me healthcare, etc…..

I started working a few months before graduation, and moved to full-time once I graduated right away.
