How important is choosing a business school?

College Selection
I am interested in attending a business school however, how important is it to choose a college/university with a well established reputation or name? With that said, if I could save money and attend an institute such as Virgina Tech for my undergraduate degree, then I would further my education at a “more well-known” college (for their business program) such as UVA, etc. Please give me any insight/ experience you may have. (I am very interested in working for an automotive company upon completion of my MBA, if that makes a difference.)

Price should not be the only criterion in selecting a business school. Higher priced business schools may have more financial aid and may produce greater returns in terms of more offers and better salaries. Two basic requirements: Look for an MBA program that is AACSB accredited. Second see if the philosophy of the school matches yours. Some schools may produce quant jocks, others entrepreneurs and sill other may excel in global focus. Pick the one that meets your capabilities and career goals.
Since you seems to be in Virginia, look at Darden. A distinctive feature of Darden is its strong, supportive community, which is enhanced by an emphasis on teamwork and communication.
Good luck!
