Question by nemahknatut88: How hard is it to find a job later if I take a break after college?
For example:

If I get a degree in say computer science, and immediately after graduation I decide to temporarily work as an English teacher for 2-3 years, how difficult would it be to get a computer science job after those 2-3 years are up?
I do not have anything against my chosen field of study, and I want to work in it eventually. I would just like to try something new for awhile.

it would be a little tricky. It would send the message that you are not all that interested in your chosen field of study..

i’m not sure how rapidly the skills and technology of your field changes. But if you take off 2 or 3 years, will your career/occupation leave you behind because of rapid changes?

Can you work as an english teacher part time and get a job in computers right away just to see how you like it?

But anyways, i’m not saying it’s impossible. Some employers will probably not care. As long as you have a job, it’s not so bad.
