College Jobs
Hello, my question is how do people find jobs right out of college? Silly question, I know, but it seems like people out of college always have jobs and I feel like theyre not using any of these job sites like monster or anything…so how are they getting them? My brother is a high level sales manager and has unfortunately been laid off a couple times in the past five years, but he always just has another job he’s interviewing for right around the corner. How do these jobs just pop up for him and others?

If you choose the right major, the jobs are easy to find.
Most libraries have this soft cover book published by the federal dept. of labor. It lists all jobs in the US along with lists of top 100 jobs that will be in demand over the next 10 years, the jobs with the worst demand, etc.
I looked in this book. Looked at the top 10 jobs that would be in demand and choose special education. Completed college with an MA in SpEd and went to work right away and have never been without a job.
Without job planning as I just described, you have to have a good personality and make a good impression along with networking so that if you do need a job, you have people to call who are willing to recommend you.

In college you are supposed to intern, which gives you contacts and helps put your foot in the door. With those it becomes a lot easier to start entering the job market.
However, your idea that most college graduates have no problem finding a job is quite incorrect. Most, nowadays, have a very difficult time finding a job in their field. Your brother is just a rather fortunate fellow.

Look I’m going to tell you the truth. It is all about your connection and school you attended. Only 15 percents of jobs are publish in newspaper or job site. Opening of jobs are offer passed on by word of mouth. So make should you know someone in the field. Everything in this world is about who you know.

Alot of college students find jobs during job fairs that are hosted at their schools. Every semester some of the big companies from surrounding areas come to the campus and allow students to ask questions about the business and drop off resumes. Another way to find a job right out of college is through internships. If the company likes the job you have done they will probably offer you a job for when you graduate. Some people send out hundreds of resumes to every company they can think of so that at least a few will respond and want to set up an interview….the more you put your name out there the more likely you are to get a response from at least several companies. And other people jobs just seem to fall right into their laps and dont have to put any effort into it( this is not the norm)
