College Selection
I am a Senior in high school now, and my guardians have been on my case about choosing a college. How do I tell them that already joined the Marine Corps? Are they going to be mad at me?

If they are not your parents, and even so they are concerned about your future, they most certainly will not be mad at you.
Talk with them about your aspirations. Tell them that academic and liberal works are interesting, but you want discipline and effort, and Marines seems to fit you.
Even Robert Kiyosaki joined military, to understand how some institutions works, in order to learn another tool for his enterprises.

do your research on the military before you talk to them. if you are going to go to college eventually show them how the gi bill can work. go back to your recruiter, advise them of your situation and ask for info to give your guardians. do you plan on having a family in the future? explain to your guardians that military insurance is the BEST of the best and will allow you to provide your family with free medical care. remind them that in this unstable economy the military is job security. my husband is in the military and it isnt always easy but we dont have to lose sleep at night wondering about job cuts or lost wages. the military will also assist you with finding a job should you decide to get out after your contract expires. since you’ve already joined the recruiter may go so far as to assist you in talking to them. did you get a sign on bonus? explain to your guardians how you plan to spend (or invest) that chunk of change. it wont really matter if they are mad or not, you’re going to better yourself in the long run and you’ve already joined so there isnt any turning back. i wish you nothing but the best and hope you have an amazing time! thanks for volunteering to serve our country!
