How can I prepare academically for college?
Question by K G: How can I prepare academically for college?
An illness struck me in the middle of high school and because of hospital visits and the strain of my illness I didn’t have enough credits to graduate with my class, so I dropped out to get my GED. My doctor and my teachers felt that I am ready for college so they supported my decision.
My dilemma is that all together I only went through about a full year and a half of high school. I’m naturally intelligent, so I got a 25 on my ACTs despite not getting all the way through high school (it would have been much higher had it not been for my weakness in math). However, I’m afraid that I’m unprepared academically to face college.
I’ve been trying to find something that could help me study at least some of the things I need to know to succeed in college. I’m naturally gifted with English, so I don’t need much help there. My only problems are math and science. Are there any online tutoring programs (preferably free) or sources I can use to catch up what I missed in high school?

when you go in to get your GED they give you a pre test to see what you could use some help on and ask your advisor what they think the best way for you to get prepaired is.
