How can I get more money?
Question by senior07: How can I get more money?
I’m a full-time college student working one full-time job and soon taking on a second. I have some HUGE credit card debts, and I just had a recent car accident which I owe my parents a ton of money for the repairs. Are there any ways anyone could think of for me to earn more money? College is on a full scholarship (thank god!) but I need to do something to pay off the cards and afford gas and food. A loan is out of the question because of my bad credit, nobody will give me one!
Ideas?

The main thing at this point is to keep the interest paid up. It is pretty normal for people to leave college with a fair amount of debt. I’ve been out for 10 years and should have mine paid for this year. Of course my debt was paying for college. Don’t work yourself to the point you don’t do well in class. Remember that the big money comes after college. I recommend not doing summer classes and working you butt off during this time.

How important is it that your debt is paid off soon? I hate to say it but, if it’s a dire importance, taking time off of school to work full time may be the only realistic option. It’s going to be difficult to find anything even decently paying without your degree (and even after, the way the economy is and considering a flooded job market that prefers to see Masters and Doctorates).
I think another option to add/save some cash is, if you currently are, to stop driving and take public transport and, if you own one, sell your car.
Good luck!

If you are going to school full time, and working 2 jobs, you are not looking for anything else to do with your time. The trick is to make the most of the money you earn. Make a budget. Figure out what you absolutely, positively need for food, gasoline, utilities, and some small amount for entertainment. You don’t want to feel deprived, or you won’t stick to it. The rest, divvy up for your credit card payments and your parents. Make those payments religiously. It is no fun being in debt.

You need to sit down and plan out a budget. Figuring out how much money you need to spend on certain things in a weekly and monthly basis will help keep you from falling farther behind. You can also sell your plasma to help generate a little extra income.

you know, you’d be really surprised at how easily strangers will give money to you if you only ask in the correct tone…I truly didnt beleive it myself and for the most part was going great, sure once in a while you may run into the ocassional person who misunderstands you and may think your trying to rob them…I tell you , so many ignorant people out there…but hey, positive attitude , positive outcome…worse case scenario, you dont have to worry about food or shelter, credit card collectors do not bug you there, as a matter of fact your not even allowed to use the phone….so , ha..there you go? no way to reach you and I really dont know what all the fuss is about jail , everyone in theres actually really friendly…its kind of like being in a baseball team , alot of hugs and pats on the butt…hope that helps…oh, theres also bankrupcy….
