I am a single mother with two kids. I am hopefully going to start going to school at a beauty academy. I am going to receive the most that someone can get for financial aid. After that, I still have to pay about 500 dollars out of my pocket. Plus their is a dress code, and I have no cloths to fit it. How can I get, or can I, get extra money for college??
and by the way, I do not have very good credit, or anyone who could co-signe.
I have been out of high school for 3 years, The academy does not offer scholarships and there is probably none that I could get anyway!!!

Work! Try applying to be a manicurist at a beauty salon. Anybody can paint nails … practice on your kids or grab a friend and paint the day away. If you play an instrument or sing well, print a few handmade posters and post them around the town and/or in people’s mailboxes (charge about $ 20 to $ 30 per hour). The posters should be professional looking without any funky coloring or letters. (Go for a clean look–maybe with a black lined border all around a normal piece of white computer paper. Don’t type in weird fonts or hand-write it.) An example:
Singing Lessons
For all who aspire to make music
Ages 4 to 12 only
For more information
Call ____ (Your name) at 123-4567
If you don’t have expertise in music, apply to be a secretary. They make a reasonable sum of money.
If you’re desperate, try a student loan. Open a small bakery in your home (make sure it’s legal and OK with the authorities). Bake brownies, cookies, cakes, etc.
