How can I find an Arabic tutor or course?
Question by Leah: How can I find an Arabic tutor or course?
I will be attending college this September in Portland, OR. I will be at a liberal arts college that does not offer Arabic. However, I would really like to learn the language and have been looking all over for an opportunity to do so. However, searching the Internet and phone books for Arabic courses or tutors has not brought any results. I am terrible at self-teach books and the sort- I really need an actual course.
Does anyone have any tips on how to discover one?

Rosetta Stone is the course that the military uses. You can download it.

Want to learn Arabic? Hiring a private tutor for one-on-one tutoring is the best way to go. However, if money is an issue, you can opt for online tutoring instead. Try some online tutoring services like:
1) http://www.tuitionplaza.com/tutoring/ – tutoring by retired teachers and volunteers (free)
2) http://www.tutor.com – tutoring by professional tutors (not free)
3) … and many more (use search engine).
Think ouside the box and you’ll have more options! Good luck!
