College Jobs
When I was 18, and an ignorant freshman in college, I got in trouble for a disorderly persons (misdemeanor). Now that I am 22, I am having a hard time finding jobs out of college. What can I do? ANy suggestions or experiences would be nice.

You could try volunteering for something. This will get you work experience and good references.

The best policy for that is totally counter intuitive. When you go to an interview, bring the misdemeanor up for discussion right at the start. That way you aren’t on the defensive when trying to explain it, and the interviewer sees it in the best possible light. They will also appreciate that you brought it up at the start, and that sort of integrity WILL greatly increase your chance of getting the job.
If you pretend it didn’t happen until they ask about it, you’ve already been beaten.

try to get an imternship thru college, they may offer you a job, if they know you.

I agree with the volunteer idea. You will get experience, it may turn into a job, and if not, they will give you a good reference.

Minor mistake, compared to others. Phone this Original College, & make
an appointment to talk with manager ( college dean ) . Be prepared with
a Printed personally signed ( appology ) . The Idea is you are looking
for Official Forgiveness from this Dumb Act . If the Manager,( dean)
Accepts your Mature, Personal Visit , he ( hopefully) will sign a release
of your Guilt .
This release will carry Appropriate responsibility on your
part, & make job hunting much easier . Your Only other choice is
apply for jobs, & do not indicate any ( misdemeanor ) then when hired
do the best job possible, build seniority, & make yourself ” Very difficult
to replace ! ” Good luck !
