Student Discounts
Being a college student I am constantly being sent email’s into my college email about all kinds of discounts on Microsoft products. I know they offer Office 2007 for Windows to college students for $59. I was wondering if they did the same for Office 2008 for mac.

Microsoft offers a Home and Student Edition of Office for Mac 2008 (the latest release) for around $100. Check online retailers like MacMall, Amazon, etc. I’ve seen it for as low as $69 at some retailers. Pretty much the same version as the full version minus a few bells and whistles that most average users will never need.

IDK, but there is Star Office that costs less than MS Office ‘07.
Or if your willing to climb a learning curve, you can use Open Office for Mac.
The difference between Open Office dot org (OOo) and Star Office is that Star Office has less bugs, has more content (like clip art, transitions, etc), and Star Office has official support unlike OOo.
Or, you can get VMWare fusion, and run the cheap MS Office student version in a Windows virtual machine with Fusion enabled. You won’t know the difference.

I’d say no because when you don’t buy a PC you also don’t but microsoft so since you haven’t bought there product they want to get as much money out of the deal as possible. I’d try amazon, new ones are as cheap as $89.99. Though that sounds expensive its much better than paying over a hundred to two hundred dollars. There’s a link under sources.
I also suggest not spending time on the internet looking up free illegal downloads. Believe me, there’s nothing out there.
