Does it matter what college you earn your degree from?

Im going to college next year and i cant choose a college. Its either USF or UF engineering. UF is obviously the better academic school, but will i hurt myselt if i decide to go to USF? Or is a degree a degree no matter where you go?
P.S. USF put me in their honors program if i choose to go there.

From what I heard here and there, first thing employers look at on your resume is what college you graduated from.
