Do you think multi-sport athletes have a better shot at playing a sport of their choosing in college?

Or is it better to be specialized in a sport & work harder in that sport?
because the thing with being a multi-sport athlete is you have to be dedicated & practice all 3 sports or else you lose touch as the seasons go
