Do you ever have trouble finding a job while your in college? Why is it hard to find a small job?

I ask to speak to a manager and hand it to him and I was told they are hiring for seasonal positions. He didn’t setup an interview me with me and I called back to follow up and I was told they hired. This was at a bookstore.
I don’t understand this. I have experience and I notice how some people have a easy time getting a job and others have a hard time. I think it might because i’m a minority and male. I think females have an easier time getting a job.
one time a girl told she went to like 8 interviews and she got offered a job from each one and I don’t believe she had experience before that…..guess what she’s a pretty girl
I known some white guys who have a hard time getting a job but I really think hott girls have an easier time

I think it is harder now to get a job while in college. My son was trying to work and go to college at the same time. He finally got a job, but they would not give him the hours he needed to help pay for college or that worked around when he was at school.
You may want to go back to the bookstore and ask the manager why you weren’t considered for the position. It could have been something you said or did. Be nice. Tell him to please keep you in mind if another position opens.
