Find out how much it will cost for room and board, which your scholarship does not cover. 4. Ask about special opportunities that might interest you such as themed housing, clubs, overseas study, intramural sports, etc. 5. Find out about availability of help with getting A's in your classes. (You will need a very high GPA to get into med school). Are professors or TA's readily available for help? 6. If these factors make a difference to you, find out if the classes taught by professors or grad students and out the class sizes for the classes of interest to you? A number of years ago, IU would definitely be the better choice, but USI has improved greatly during the last several years. IU has a reputation as a party school. Consider whether or not you will be distracted from your studies by the behavior (or misbehavior) of your fellow students. IMHO, IU wins for campus beauty, for breadth of course offerings, and for the number of opportunities available. However, these are not necessarily the factors you should use in choosing a college.
