I would encourage you to visit both campuses and do the following:

1. Meet with a pre-health professions adviser and find out about the pre-med program at IU and USI.
2. Ask about opportunities for undergraduate research in biology.
3. Find out how much it will cost for room and board, which your scholarship does not cover.
4. Ask about special opportunities that might interest you such as themed housing, clubs, overseas study, intramural sports, etc.
5. Find out about availability of help with getting A's in your classes. (You will need a very high GPA to get into med school). Are professors or TA's readily available for help?
6. If these factors make a difference to you, find out if the classes taught by professors or grad students and out the class sizes for the classes of interest to you?

A number of years ago, IU would definitely be the better choice, but USI has improved greatly during the last several years. IU has a reputation as a party school. Consider whether or not you will be distracted from your studies by the behavior (or misbehavior) of your fellow students.

IMHO, IU wins for campus beauty, for breadth of course offerings, and for the number of opportunities available. However, these are not necessarily the factors you should use in choosing a college.

You know, it is what it is. Health care costs at your age, for an insurance plan, ARE going to cost $ 200 a month. If you have pre-existing conditions, or are unhealthy now, you're probably not going to be able to afford it.

Shop around, there ARE doctors willing to take money up front - IF you pay before the appointment (tons of people say they'll pay, then don't - sticking the doctors for the bills - that's what's up with that).

On the prescriptions - as the docs to give you something from the Walmart or Target generic list, that will do the job - at $ 4 a month, and over 400 generic drugs on the list, it's cheaper than a prescription copay.

There is a company that takes care of people just like you.

Savings can be substantial.

Let me give you an example: Three months ago a patient had a stroke and was admitted to hospital. His total bill was $ 14.000. The patient paid less than $ 600!.

My husband saved $ 877 on his dental work and I saved $ 109 on my glasses.

The Medical plan is only $ 49.95 a month.

It's a very affordable Medical package designed to help people like you.

Big colleges are great because there are people there from almost every walk of life there. I suggest going to a public university as opposed to a private one because it costs a little less since it is publicly funded. At schools that have 20,000+ people you will be sure to find someone who you like and click with.

Most college web sites will list their student population. race/sex/out of state/international

Most colleges are a world within themselves. We check out dorm security, campus security. Unless the campus is in a big city like Chicago/NY, you need to just check out the school/campus itself.

Your best bet is to go visit some colleges. Take a campus tour, meet with admissions. see a dorm, eat in the dining hall.

You need to ask yourself....what work would you love to do the most? Then go for it. If you love your job, it 15km won't seem that far away.

Teaching is never bore if the teacher is lively and able. Probably you do not have the right approach.

As for good jobs, note that people look for good jobs, and never good jobs looking for people,
