Choosing College Courses – Considering Being A Journalist- Help, What Course?

College Selection
I don’r know what I want to do as a career but I’ve decided to play my strengths for now – which is English.
I’m in Year 11, it’s the first week back, and as I’ve completed my personal statment, I’ve been told to look at colleges.
My question is,
whats the difference between English Literature and English Lit & Lang?
And which would benefit me more if I wanted to be a journalist/writer?
Help please
:/

Doing English WOULD benefit you, especially if you do well and you get some work experience to go with it. It shows you can structure an essay, which is never a bad thing, whereas doing a journalism course is kinda like doing media studies… just because of the title doesn’t mean it’s always the best route into that area.
English Literature is solely analysing books, whereas the combined course adds the language element to it, but if i were you and you have no particular desire to study language as well you might as well do the straight eng lit course, as it’s viewed as a really solid subject.

Neither, If you really want to be a journalist, do a journalism degree.
