Choosing a college, major?! help!?
I’m an ingoing junior in high school, but I have so many options, i want to pick soon so i can get a head start.
I come from a family of smart doctors, as in EVERYONE, except for one lawyer. My family says they don’t mind what i do or where i go, so everythings open, but i do want something prestigious and something i can go far in. i am currently ranked 1 out of 387 at school -4.0, involved in key club, mathclub, yearbook (editor), political club (prez), fbla (state, prez), forensics (state), track, tennis, student council, peer mentoring, newspaper, DECA, national honor society, spanish honor society, and have a job at the hospital. ACT sophomore year=29, practice SAT=2100. I’m big into politics, but excel in science and math areas. i have an opportunity to intern for a senator among many other things.
i could go many ways at this point…
what colleges should i apply to? major?
keep in mind i am a minority female who speaks a native language fluently at home (affirmative action..
I also win numerous writing contests (reflections, Ayn Rand, community contests). So…writing, premed, law, politics, business, what?!

Wow. Aren’t you a lucky one. You can pretty much do whatever you want. I’d suggest a TV news reporter. Minor fame and big bucks.

First of all, you rock. I am an incoming sophomore and I would LOVE to be in your shoes. You should do either Premed or if your passion is politics probably, Political Science. You have an advantage of being bilingual. I think it’s great that you are getting a head start on things.

I think you should do anything that you want, especially since you have your family’s blessing…. If you are interested in politics (since you mention it) then you should take advantage of the opportunity to intern for the senator… thats a great opportunity and if after that you find that is what you want then go for it!!! Do whatever makes you happy. As for colleges, I think you can get into whatever college you want….Harvard and Yale seem to be good for political science…. good luck =)

Wow! I can’t believe this isn’t a joke. I have never heard of anyone as well rounded as you. No matter what you choose, you will succeed. Are you interested in medicine? I find that I excel in the same areas that you do, (although I am nowhere NEAR having the qualifications that you have!) and I found an interest in marine biology. But if you have a job in the hospital that you enjoy, maybe you might find being a surgeon or a doctor more interesting. Take as many science classes as you can if you’re going that route! I hope this helped!
