Question by mofo: Can’t choose what college?
I want to enter into advertising. The college that I’m looking into now is the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. However I have no Idea how good it’s advertising program is. So my question is does any one have any info on this college or have any request on any other colleges with good advertising programs or know a trusted website that I can search for advertising schools.

Let’s clarify–you want to go into advertising art production? Because it’s important to differentiate between advertising copy writing or advertising sales or ad management.

I can’t specifically address the quality of any single program; I can state that, from my observation, most of those programs will prepare you well. Advertising art is a difficult profession and you probably need to start out as a free-lancer–your success is going to depend on what you can do more than on where you attended.

But many college placement offices keep figures on the placement rates of graduates of certain degree programs, so consider contacting them and asking how many of their ad art students landed jobs. That’s one good measure of program quality.
