Can choosing undeclared as my major lower my chances of getting admitted into college? Or is it just another one of college myths?

It’s fine to be undeclared. At the college where I work, about 25% of applicants choose “undecided” and it doesn’t hurt them in the admissions process. Students are expected to take a broad range of classes during the first few semesters before committing to a major.
