It depends.
If one chooses not to go to college because they don’t feel it’s the right path then I don’t see how it would effect their parenting.
On the other hand, if college is sacrificed the parent will most likely regret at some point, perhaps even resenting their children for the choice they felt pushed into making.
All that means is that you are more street smart than book smart. Parenting takes a lot of common sense, so it may make you a better parent in that respect. (But college is still important…I’m not discouraging it!)
College can never teach anything about parenting but it will not make you a worse parent if you go. Silly question if you ask me, a parent is to love the child and care for it as best you can, if you are worried about leaving the child to go to college it will proabably benefit the child in the long run when you have a better career – i think you needed to elaborate more ont he question hope this has helped
I quit to marry, and be a stay at home Mom, going back was really hard for me, and something for my kids to use when they got older…you dropped out and turned out fine!! double edge here, on one hand you want to stay home and he a good mom, on the other, you need a life to show your kids anything can be done!
I was faced with this delema myself, and it wasn’t easy. I am a single mom who wants an education but I have a good job already, not the best but good. I wasn’t able to find a program where I could work full time and only go to school acouple nights per week. My daughter is 6 and she is very well rounded. She is in daycare untill 6pm and I have untill around 9:30pm with her before she goes to bed. I could never give up this time with her. My education can wait.

college has nothing to do with parenting.

Not in my opinion. You want your children to model your behavior. Wouldn’t you want your children to go to college?

I don’t think going to college or not going to college effects your parenting at all unless not going makes you unable to provide for your children.

I don’t see how that would affect you as a parent at all.
