Carnigie Mellon, Johns Hopkins, Case Western . As others have said, it depends on the type of science you want to do (nuclear engineering, physics, marine biology, etc.) What do you want to do with the Masters? Check out articles or adjunct faculty at your current school in your area of interest to identify respected professionals in your area of science and ask them which schools they would recommend. When you identify schools, ask their department office what companies interview there…which will give you a clue whether the big employers are interested, or if only local companies value that department. If they refuse to tell you, it could be a clue that the department isn’t that good. When you visit a school, ask to speak to someone in the Master’s Program and see what they say about the program. You might also find some info on the discussion boards on collegeconfidential.com and studentsreview.com. Gradually schools will start to sort themselves out in your mind.
