Are Any Other Recent College Grads Having Trouble Finding A Job?

College Jobs
I’m starting to feel like having a BS degree (in Soci/Anthropology and Criminal Justice) is pointless seeing that most jobs now want you to have at least 2 years of grad school. I’ve applied to 100+ jobs since Dec. of ‘07, I graduate in May and still no calls no nothing. Are any other grads having this trouble? And what’s the avg. time now for recent grads getting an entry level job?

You are not the only one. The Wall Street Journal had a major story on it. It is really tough for recent graduates at the moment. The only bright spot is IT and CS.
My advice is to do post grad studies – preferably in IT and CS.
Thanks

Where did you graduate from? A community college? State college? Top private school?
What did you do in college? What was your GPA?
Ask yourself these questions and try to find what is hampering your job search.
Obviously, students are high prestigious colleges, like Ivy League and top private elites have little trouble finding jobs. If you have applied to more than 100+ jobs since graduation, perhaps it is time to go back to school and earn a master’s degree? If you are a qualified candidate, you might want to keep on trying.
Good luck

Looking at the experience of my cousin, she went through something similar. Her biggest problem was lack of work experience. Yeah we’re told get an education, but at the same time employers want some work experience. It may do you some good to take a job that isn’t really your “dream” job just for some experience and then move on.
