Apple Student/teacher Discount At The Apple Store?

Student Discounts
I am Junior at a high school and I noticed it said you have to be a college student or teacher to be applicable to receive the $100 off and a free iPod for buying a Macbook. Would there be any way they would check if I said I was teacher at the school, because I actually have to have one for my art school that I go to. And do they send the Macbook to your school or home?
And if you buy it under the teacher/student discount is there anything differant on it?
Thanks!

Yes, they do check. When you are physically in the store, you will have to show a teacher’s i.d. from a legitimate school in the area. If you tried to buy it through the online Mac store site, you have to enter the school where you teach, and that makes a legal record of the purchase– note that there is a danger of fraud prosecution here.
If you “have to have one,” talk to your teacher and ask if your school offers a purchasing program with discounts for students. Many schools do, or perhaps the teacher is willing to place the order for you. Ask the teacher if the computer can be shipped to your home.
The Mac you buy is identical to the publicly-available models.

They send it to the place where you tell them too (the shiping sucks) if you order online they do not check (they might do a random flag). If you go to the store they check. Some high schools are accepted at Apple (the students). They only check for in store buying (unless they do the random checks still as I mentioned above). I just bought my new iMac with the educational discount. But yes, you need to be a K12 teacher or student at a K12 school they support students at. Or a college student or teacher. But the guy above me is completely correct, you are agreeing to a legal contract. If I remember correctly if you then buy online, you agree to two.
I recently tried to use a different shipping and billing address, they will hold the order unless the credit card company has the shipping address listed on the card “as an authorized shipping address” what ever that means, but then that was for Visa, I don’t know how the other cards work (I am also a Junior in HS, credit cards are the last thing on my mind). I gave up and went with my mom to the Apple Store (she has her college ID).
Good luck dude!

Just order online (as a student if you’re one). I ordered online and they didn’t check…
